ABOUT ME

Hello dear visitor. I'm Max, based in Pantin, just outside Paris.

I've spent most of my life digging through the less respectable corners of music, film and printed matter. Metal, punk, hardcore, weird pop, giallo OSTs, obscure records, fanzines, mixtapes, underground cinema... The usual unhealthy obsessions.

Over the years I've been a fanzine maker, tape trader, musician, writer and record collector. I also spent a couple of decades working in television as copywriter and art director ↗ before becoming a bookseller ↗.

NO CLOUT is where I keep the evidence: musical projects, old interviews, forgotten fanzines, mixtapes, reviews, and assorted debris from a lifetime of cultural scavenging.

Why No Clout? Motörhead in their days had No Class... and I have No Clout... No expertise claimed. No influence sought. Just curiosity, enthusiasm and, perhaps, a slightly unreasonable attachment to the smelly ink stains on the cultural zeitgeist.
